Tragedy on Redcar seafront as 72 year scuba diver dies

The Redcar blog hates sharing tragic news, however today we are making our readers aware of a death at Redcar seafront.

A 72 year old male scuba diver unfortunately lost his life today.The RNLI lifeboat was launched today at 1pm after reports a diver had got into trouble in the sea just off the beach in the North Sea.

A spokesman for Cleveland Police confirmed the scuba diver, a 72-year-old man, has died.

He said: "At 1.36pm today police were called to the sea near the lifeboat station in Redcar where a 72-year-old man had been scuba diving and was found in the water. He was taken to the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough where he was pronounced dead. Inquiries are ongoing."
