Police are appealing for information after a 71-year-old man was found with serious injuries.
The man had been cycling along the A173 Guisborough
Road/Newton Road. He was found in the road by members of the public with
spinal injuries and head injuries and remains in James Cook University
Hospital in a stable condition.
He was found at around 9.55am on the morning of Friday
21st March on the A173, just outside of Great Ayton heading towards
Newton Under Roseberry.
Police would like to appeal to ascertain the circumstances
of how the man came about his injuries. Two vehicles were present at
the scene, a large grey vehicle which was possibly a Ford Mondeo and a
white van. Officers would like to speak to the drivers of either of
these vehicles.
